BROTHERS IN ARMS

Synopsis
BROTHERS IN ARMS tells the story of Eagle, a Danish platoon commander positioned in Afghanistan, and his cooperation with the local police captain, Fareed. In spite of cultural and linguistic differences, Eagle and Fareed’s men fight side by side to improve security in a region that has been torn up by war. When an Afghan officer suddenly turns his weapon against the Danish soldiers, however, the cooperation and growing friendship between the two leaders is put to the test. The men have no time to react before the traitor vanishes, leaving Eagle wounded and his interpreter dead. Eagle is shipped back to Denmark, but returns to Afghanistan as soon as he recovers from his wounds, determined to continue his duty as if nothing ever happened. In a country where nothing is black and white, and corruption permeates everything, the truth can be hard to find and trust is a matter of life and death.

Statement
“BROTHERS IN ARMS is first and foremost a film about people and what can happen to them, when they are exposed to the inevitable conditions of the war efforts in Afghanistan. It is a brutally honest film about gaining trust and losing it, about friendship, brotherhood, life and death.”
